Qigong for the Lungs I
/The Hungry Tiger Qigong
Guided by Peter Francis Cunneen, MATCM & Claire C Cunneen, CIP
The Qigong exercise in this video can be used preventively as part of an over whole self-strengthening program.
As with all the Qigong exercises presented in our videos, place the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth, gently close your lips and breathe thru your nose (both for the inhale and the exhale, unless specifically noted). If this is a new habit for you, gently remind yourself to breathe in this way from time to time. This will gradually become second nature.
The Hungry Tiger Qigong strengthens the lungs and supports our immune functions. You can practice this exercise daily preferably in the morning, in a room with fresh air.
The three versions of this exercise open up and strengthen your lung organ and channels that travel down your inner arms. Practice a set once or twice a day using the version that you feel matches your current ability.Start with three or more repetitions that you can reasonably perform and gradually build up your capability to ten repetitions. As your capability improves, you can consider trying another version.
To learn the movements, we recommend that you watch first our bilingual English –French video, and then replay the video to practice the exercise, until you feel confident to do it by yourself.

Looking forward to meeting again for our next Home Practice Qigong!
